Positions for Basic Escapes 

1. Cross Body Escapes
a. Hammer leg and turn over
b. Hip in and turn over hip
c. Ebe (umpa) to knee in to leg wheel or guard
d. Ebe (umpa) out to double or single leg turn over
e. Leg swing out to head and arm turn over


2. Kesagatami Escapes 
a. Basic frame to leg to clock head scissors
b. Leg hook to rear choke
c. Hip in to roll over
d. Hip out to pull down to arm lock
e. Arm over to rear arm lock


3. Mount Escapes
a. Hip escape to guard
b. Arm wrap Three ways (over, under, lever and grab)
c. Leg scoop
d. Leg lift
e. Feet to armpit
f. Leg swing with lift


4. Breaking the guard 
a. Leg split to under leg escape
b. Leg split to over leg with near leg
c. Leg split to over leg with far leg
d. Stand up to knee crunch to knee mount


5. Escape from the “down” Position 
a. Partner in front- Head and shoulder through to rear control or rear arm lock
b. Partner behind- Elbow hook and roll
c. Forward sit out and face partner
